Dr, Chapman, was /is a true blessing to me and my life, He has helped me save my life. Dr. Chapman comes highly recommended at PCMH, His office is located at 517 Moye Blvd, Greenville, NC. Dr. Chapman's staff are truly the nicest group of angels I have ever met, They made me feel very comfortable while I was in the office, as well as on the phone. Dr. Chapman waited very patiently for me as I was in the prep area, He even came down to the prep area to check on me to make sure that I was ok, and to let me know he was waiting for me. After surgery Dr. Chapman came back to see me quite often, (very impressive) He signed my bariatric pillow before I left the hospital with a very encouraging message from Dr. Chapman.

What future patients should know about Dr. Chapman is he is very compassionate, very friendly, loyal, highly educated, high recommended, and GOD SENT!!!!, Dr. Chapman has a very structured plan of care before and after sugery, His program is great, yet very intense, and you must be willing to follow the plan of care in order to get the results you want. Dr. Chapman has been very honest with me from beginning to end, he explained the risk of surgery from beginning to end. On a scale of 1-10, I would give Dr. Chapman 100++++++++++ His bedside manners, and table side manners where very professional, and personal (awesome)

Here is my personal experience with my surgeon. If you choose him, your experience may be different. This review is only my personal opinion.

Dr. Chapman is a very skilled surgeon. He is very nice and extremely sensitive to your needs. He is tough, though and he wants you to be sure that you understand his program. He does not really compromise on that front.

Aftercare so far has been great! The staff is responsive and will call as soon as possible (many times within 2 hours) if you have a question, no matter how trivial you may think it is! The best part for me has been no co-pays for 90 days post-op! That saves me loads of money...

If you choose Dr. Chapman, there will be lots of paperwork for you to sign, so you know what you are getting into (as much as you can know before surgery).

So far I would rate him an A+ for surgical competence and an A for bedside manner. He is in and out so fast, you have to have your questions ready! He will stay to answer them, though, no matter how many you may have.

I am very happy with my surgeon choice.

One the biggest fears I had with Gastric Bypass surgery was the mortality rate. When I first met Dr. Chapman two things changed the way I approached WLS, mentally and emotionally: 1) He was straight forward and spoke his mind. 2)He was confident and reassuring. He discussed what would happen and what to expect. I didn't even need to ask questions from my prepared list. Following my surgery, I looked at my small scars. I smiled at how great I felt and when Dr. Chapman came to visit, I said \" Dr. Chapman, they said you have gifted hands. I believe they are right.\" Beware however, he is so busy and so requested, don't be insulted that he has fellows and other staff who work with him - and you. But, they more than make up for the fast moving Dr. Chapman. I personally feel very fortunate.

I learned of Dr. Chapman on the internet site for the Bariatrics program at The Brody School of Medicine. He performed the RNY on the site and I was very impressed with his confidence and competence. When I call to inquire, the staff treated me like a family member returning home. He has been very professional, very thorough, very informative, and very patient. :) His staff and aftercare program is very reassuring and professional. He was very frank about the benefits and risks of the surgery, and the prognosis if I did or did not have the surgery. I have every confidence in him and am thankful to be in his hands tomorrow morning, when I have my surgery. I think it is important to be competent, professional, balanced with a caring friendly, firm and frank manner. He is all of these things.rn

My first impression of Dr. Chapman was that he was a very skilled surgeon, not just in bariatrics. He is my husband's surgeon (for colorectal cancer). Dr. Chapman and his staff have always been upfront and very honest with both of us. rnrnDr. Chapman is a very busy physician but will stop and talk/answer questions that you have; just be prepared when he comes in the room. rnrnAftercare is extremely important for WLS patients and he is very upfront about that with his patients. If you are not going to follow the program, then think twice about having this surgery. Only you can make it a success. No one can do that for you.rnrnThe risks of the surgery were discussed in detail several times prior to surgery. It was mandatory that your support person attend one of these visits. Everything was explained to my husband and he was given the opportunity to ask questions and feel comfortable with my decision to have WLS.rnrnI would rate Dr. Chapman and his staff a 10 out of 10!rnYou won't go wrong with him.rn

Dr Chapman is a great Surgeon. He is very knowledgeable in his field. His office staff has grown due to his growing clientele and it seemed to me that the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing most of the time.
Due to his growing caseload, he's a very busy man and I had been warned that I needed to make a list of questions when I thought of them because he is in and out in a flash for the office visits...man, were they spot on with that assessment.
He said time and time again: "If you do everything I tell you to do, you will succeed"
He also told me of the risks of this surgery and how they compared to other surgeries.
I saw him briefly about an hour before surgery and not again until my follow up apt 2 1/2 weeks later, but the staff was great at answering my questions of diet and medications after the surgery when I called.
I would recommend him to others but just warn them to be their own advocate...his nutritionist and psych professionals (and I use that term extremely loosely) leave oh so much to be desired.

Dr Chapman did my Nissen about 12 years ago and then gastric bypass 3 years ago. Both surgeries were 100% sucessful. He is a fantastic doctor, my all time favorite surgeon. I would put my trust in him again any day. He is awesome at what he does, super knowledgeable and always up front with the facts.

I love Dr. Chapman so far. He's very blunt which is what I need. My surgery is coming up so I will update after that.

Dr. Chapman is a very busy guy, but cares about his patients. He was instrumental in helping me decide what surgery was best for me, but told me I will do what you want. My goal was to eliminate diabetes (which is on both sides of my family) and he said, if you were my sister, I would tell you that the RNY would be the best for you.

Surgery went without a hitch. Results have been as expected.

I have the best surgeon, I could ask for. He really cares for his patients. I was not a quantity, but I was of quality.
