My first impressions of Dr. Overcash was just like any other doctor that it was time for serious business. He was truthful to the point and very, very knowledgeable. My impression did change over time. I saw a funny, joking type of guy. During my first consultation Dr. O meet my husband, who was on crutches because of a knee surgery, and we all laughed and joked about my husband not being able to get around without my help. Then he got into the details, and risks of the surgery. Because of my weight he explained that I was in a higher risk catergory. He explained the surgery in detail and he did ask the famous question to my husband about taking care of the children in case I may die. I have three children 17 year old boy and 14 year old twin girls. So my husband said, my girls will take care of me. In reference to aftercare he didn't mention much except information and that some instructions will be given after surgery. He explained all risks involved, he explained them more so than anything else. I think surgical competence is better because it eases my mind. I feel he really knows his stuff.

I was impressed with him and his office staff. He was very stern and told me of all the dangers. He gave me a book on what to expect and what life style changes I would have to make. He did not soften anything! He was very blunt! I researched him as a surgeon and I feel confident that he is an excellent surgeon. His bed side manner is not great at this point, but his surgical competence is what I need. I am glad that he did not candy coat any of this life threatning proceedure.

Dr. Overcash was very nice and to the point,The office staff was extremely friendly and kind whenever I had a question.
My surgery was on 3/20/01 I had the lapband done. Now as of 6/01/01 I have lost 40pounds, he always has time for questions no matter how busy his office is. Okay it has been a year now since my surgery as of today 4/17/02 I am now down 103pds. and could not be happier!!I went and saw Dr.Overcash on Sept. 19, it has been 18 months since my surgery and i am now down 145 pounds. Dr.Overcash was just as happy for me as i am for myself. Here is the latest update as of Feb.10, 2003 i am officaly down 165 pds.

My consultation with Dr. Overcash was everything I hoped it would be. He was straight to point. I was a impressed by his confidence that he could get the job done which made me feel a lot more at ease about my decision to go ahead and have the surgery. His staff has been wonderful about answering any questions I have had and did not make me feel as if I am bothering them. Nothing negative to say about Dr. Overcash or his staff and I am very confident that I will be please with the outcome. He also emphasized the importance of following his orders during aftercare. Also advised me of the risks involved. The consultation was quick to the point and he allow me and my fiance' the time to ask any questions and concerns we may have had. I would definitely recommend Dr. Overcash to others in the future who may consider having this done.

Very likeable and professional. Take charge kin of persons. My impression has not changed about him. His staff was the best part and was the main reason I made my decision to use Dr. Overcash. They were absolutly wonderful. Willing to help you in evry way. Treated not only me but everyone who walked in as a V.I.P. Always smiling, happy and willing to to help. Fantastic group of people!!!I have never seen such wonderful people in a doctors office in my life. I only live 75 miles away but would fly 1000 mile just because of their attitude towards patients. I can't say enough. Dr.Overcash was very articulate and precise about the risks of this procedure. The very first thing he addressed. His surgical competence and bedside manner are in my opinion fantastic. Definatly a role model for all surgeons who do this procedure.

I had read that he was fast-paced so I was prepared for that. I found him to be nice and he answered all my questions. His office staff is extrememy helpful! I would like him to slow down just a bit. Make sure you have a list of questions when you see him!We didn't get into aftercare a whole lot. He gave me a booklet to read. He definitely addresses the dangers of surgery and explains how he will do it.

I had already heard many wonderful things about Dr. Overcash. I was impressed with his direct manner. His staff was most helpful when I was at my wits end after having my previous surgeon move to California with virtually no notice. I have had the opportunity to speak with many of his patients and everyone seems to have great confidence in him.

I found Dr. Overcash to be down to earth and up front with the risk of this surgery. I showed up for my first office visit kinda on the shy side of "Is this the right things for me". After the visit with Dr. Overcash I continued my search for pros and cons to make up my mind. I chose to go with it and did what had to be done to get my insurance to approve the surgery. With no delay I had a date and choose to have it a few months out. This gave me time to get things in order with my self, work and family :). The office staff is wonderful. The stuff it out with all of my questions and doubts. To be honest... I could not have choose a better Doctor or Staff to help me with my change of life. Infact, being a Referral Specialist, I have referred 3 new patients to Dr. Overcash!! He is WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!

He was very professional. He's not going to hold your hand. He's going to tell you what's up, however I appreciate the straight-forward approach. He told us about the risks involed. In fact it almost seemed like he was trying to convince me to not have the surgery although I realize that he was just being upfront about the whole thing.
