William Strodel Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

my surgeon was dr strodel with gmc in danville pa and he was fabulous, i have no problems!

My first impression of Dr. Strodel was that he was very warm and personable, and he took his time answering my questions, not making me feel like I was taking up his time. My impression of him only got better as time went on, he's an excellent Doctor! His staff is very professional, yet very personable as well. His nurse Toni Filer is an angel! I really liked her. There was nothing I didn't like about Dr. Strodel and his staff. Future patients should know that he is a wonderful, very professional, extremely capable surgeon, who does an AMAZING job closing an incision!!!! No staples, but he takes his time closing you himself! My incision scar is thin and flat, beautiful really, as scars go. Dr. Strodel and his staff are very thorough about the aftercare of patients. Just follow all the rules to the T. The aftercare program involves not only Dr. Strodel, but other very capable Doctors and Nutritionists as well. Dr. Strodel addressed the risk of surgery very honestly and I felt very informed and very well taken care of. If I had to recommend a Bariatric Sergeon and Hospital, it would be Dr. Strodel at Geisinger Medical Center. In my opinion he is the best at what he does and Geisinger is one of the top Hospitals in the country. Surgical competence is most important, but having a Surgeon who has an excellent bedside manner makes a huge difference in the entire program and your total experience, before and after surgery.

He was very friendly and explained everything to me , everyone in the office was very polite and helpful. rnHe explained all the complications and risks , (even tho I already knew them) , Yes I will be seeing him after surgery, I'll let ya know about the bed side manner and surgical competence , after i have it done and starting a \"NEW AND HEALTHIER LIFE\"

I had never had surgery before - and wasn't sure if I should, and what type.rnrnAfter my first meeting with the Doc, I had no misgivings that open was the way to go, and that I could trust this man.rnrnI was right, and his no bullcrap, thoughtful and caring manner put me at ease, made me feel like I was the most important person to him at that time, and he patiently answered my questions, both the ones I thought of, and the ones I forgot or didn't know to ask.rnrnMy surgery went very well, morphine drips are great,rnexcept i kept forgetting to breathe - and I got a kick out of leaving bed the first day and taking a walk - which I recommend to anyone, clears the gas.rnrnDr. Strodel prepared me for everything, his surgical competence and bedside manner are perfect, and his staff amazing. rnrnI have no regrets, and would recommend him to anyone.rnrnI also had issue with waiting too long - thought it was just me, nice to see I wasn't alone? But well worth the wait.

Dr Strodel was wonderful. As soon as I met him I liked him. He is down to earth and has a wonderful bedside manner. He talked to me like a person and not like he was better than me or like I wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. I can't think of a thing I didn't like about him. He answered every question before and after surgery and his staff is available when ever you need them. I give him the highest recomondation I can possibly give. He was great on all levels of this adventure.

Dr. Strodel exceeded my expectations in both surgical competence and bedside manner. I highly recommend him.

I love him - he is right down my lane. We had a very good informative talk and I hope the surgery will go as well as our appoint ment. The only downside so far was - I was waiting for more than one hour in the waiting room to see him and I do like punctuality. I don't mind waiting 10 - 20 minutes, but I thought 70 min were too much.
He was addressing all the needed facts and told me about the risks that can happen. He did not play it down but was also not making a big elephant out of it. Again I really like Dr. Strodel.

He was very personable and willing to spend as much time as was needed answering my questions. I never felt rushed or that he wasnt interested. The entire clinic at gmc is great
