    Dr. Haroon Anwar, Bariatric Surgeon

    Haroon P. Anwar, MD serves as the medical director of the CHI-Franciscan Center for Weight Management in Federal Way, Washington. As a bariatric surgeon, he specializes in single-incision laparoscopic surgery and minimally invasive robotic-assisted weight loss surgery procedures. Dr. Anwar is board-certified in General Surgery and Critical Care Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.

    Prior to joining CHI-Franciscan Center for Weight Loss Management, Dr. Anwar was a clinical instructor of surgery at the University of California in San Francisco. He also founded the Palo Alto Medical Foundation bariatric surgery program.

    Dr. Anwar earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of California Medical Center. He is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).

    Dr. Haroon Anwar specializes in laparoscopic and robotic-assisted weight loss surgery, performing a variety of bariatric surgery procedures including the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG), Roux-en-Y (RNY) Gastric Bypass, Duodenal Switch (DS), Adjustable Gastric Banding, and complex bariatric surgery revisions.

    Dr. Anwar is committed to partnering with each of his patients through their weight loss surgery journey.     Dr Anwar is a great surgeon. He is informative and mild mannered and has helped me through some of my pre-surgery jitters. I feel as though I am in very capable hands. I would recommend him to anyone!
