I began gaining weight slowly a little over 10 yrs ago. Within the last 3 years my weight increased by 60lbs and this began affecting my everyday life. I have never had a problem working out (Food, obviously, was my issue.) and I found myself unable to do any kind of cardio because my legs and heels would be in pain. Not only was it present during workouts but at night, when I tried walking to the bathroom and close to the end walking during the day hurt as well.
I constantly thought of food, anything sugar was my favorite. I ate till it felt uncomfortable, I did not know what satisfied meant.
My fiance brought up the surgery to me. I know ladies, you're probably thinking I should have been offended. But I felt the exact opposite. The man I love and want to spend the rest of my life with wants me to stick around for awhile, feel confident, not hide out because I feel like people are judging me. He wanted me to be happy and healthy. So I began searching for the doctor.
I visited a few doctors in Austin as well as Dallas and I heard the same thing every time. You definitely qualify for the procedure however insurance will only cover if you gain more weight and maintain for sometime or have an underlying condition (ie diabetes, high blood pressure etc). I knew I was heading down that road for health issues, but I was not being treated for anything at the time (which is a blessing). My cousin in Mexico is a doctor, completely different field, but I reached out to her and asked for help in finding a surgeon. Her medical director referred her to Dr. Jose Eduardo Garcia Flores.
I reached out to Dr. Flores and we set up a skype interview and immediately I felt comfortable with him. He does look very young lol, but he is very knowledgeable and professional. I am Hispanic however my Spanish is no bueno. And thankfully he spoke English. I was able to voice my concerns and ask questions and he would respond and I could understand.
The procedure was affordable and I decided to move forward and travel to Monterrey, MX.
I chose to do all the testing for the procedure on the Monday before surgery (my surgery was on a Wed.) I met with a nutritionist, medical doctor (general), Psychiatrist, Anesthesiologist, had an ekg, and had all my bloodwork done. Dr. Flores made it very clear, if something is not right, we will not proceed. His staff spoke Spanish primarily but we were able to communicate to each other as they also spoke English. Each one of the doctors gave me their email and phone number and asked if I needed to contact them at any time to do so. Luis his assistant was so very helpful and answered every question I had before and after the surgery.
The hospital where he performs the surgeries, the staff was very nice and constantly checked on me and made sure I was comfortable and had what I needed.
It has been nearly two months and I have lost 50lbs. I will always be grateful to Dr. Flores and his staff. I highly recommend him.

Hi my name is Adriana Rogers and I would like to share my story with you. My whole life I've been battling my weight and in the last 2 years I have gained more weight than ever getting to 385 pounds. The staff was so professional and well trained having my nutritionist and psychologist having already put together my after care plan for me. Having gone through the surgery without any issues and the Dr Eduardo even giving me his phone number and instructing me to call him anytime I had question or concern. 3 days later I was up and walking and feeling great and ready to return to Utah. Now a month later I have already lost 40 pounds and my life is changed for the better . I have much more energy getting things that were hard for me to do before done with ease and feeling so good about the way I look and feel now. This is the best decision I have ever made and I am so happy that I choose Dr Eduardo Garcia and His staff at Monterrey Bariatrics, They are the Angels who help change my life forever.

Por el lado medico yo me realice un bypass gástrico y mi cirugía fue el día 7 de Diciembre del 2015 en el hospital concita en monterrey donde desde admisión, preparación, cirugía, recuperación y pase a mi habitación todo fue excelente y en las manos del doctor Eduardo no tengo mas que decir que fue una excelente cirugía, no he tenido ningún problema y la verdad a 10 días de mi cirugía veo avances importantes a que me refiero como me siento y la perdida de peso que llevo de 7 kgs en estos días.

My obesity began in adolescence after 15 years, at age 19 I had surgery for a herniated disc so I tried to lose weight to take care of my back, but until a few days ago came despite 98 kg and already felt discomfort the lower back and for this reason we decided to RELIAZAR the VSG.

Estoy muy contenta y agradecida porque desde que conocí al Dr. Eduardo García elevo mi autoestima y sentí que podía lograr mi meta. Mi experiencia antes de la operación fue excelente pues tuve de manera oportuna todas las indicaciones necesarias para llegar de la mejor manera a mi operación. Hello , my name is Luis Aguilar and would like to share with you through this blog my experience as a bariatric patient, for many years I was trying to lose weight by dieting , nutritionist , exercise, taking pills, and even using magic products to reduce, with diet and exercise could lower but could not stay at that weight , nothing really worked as I expected, and in my family there is an antecedent of overweight.
It all started when my mom decided to keep an appointment with the doctor to inquire about gastric bypass, in that appointment we met Dr. José Eduardo García Flores, and the original idea was that my mom was the patient, but when we get out of there my dad and I had become patients too, because of my weight at that time, and family antecedent of overweight and diabetes. Finally we decided to embark on this adventure together , my parents and I decided to get a gastric bypass , that was a huge idea,many people unsupported us , and still others were trying to frighten us with negative thoughts , I remember I did not lose the desire to change my life in that way , so the July 15, 2011 , started my new life , then weighed 116 kg and average 1.90 meters , I really was not obese, but with surgery I lose excess of weight and prevented diabetes at an early age ,because my mother had diabetes since she was 40 years old , and the day after her surgery, sugar levels were regulated ,I started noticing amazing changes, following a pattern of eating very detailed , the results were noticeable after a while, my self-esteem rose , and I proved to myself and those who discouraged me at first, I got what I set .

Garcia is trust, he explain and take all the time to tell me about the surgerys and do an smart choose, i choose gastric bypass, the surgery was an success, i be two days in the hospital, i return to my home in 5 days, they have all the necessary to make feel in home...the take car of you...Im very happy i already lost 75 pounds and feel ok.
