Linda Youngwirth, MD, FASMBS is a board-certified bariatric surgeon at REX Bariatric Specialists sharing her expertise in Raleigh, North Carolina and beyond. After graduating with honors and obtaining a Bachelor of Science at the University of Wisconsin, she earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Doctor of Medicine graduating with honors in research. She then completed her residency and a fellowship in Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery at Duke University Medical Center Department of Surgery.

Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS), Dr. Youngwirth is a fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). She has received numerous awards, honors and scholarships including the Dr. Herman and Gwendolyn Shapiro Excellence in Student Research Award. Having fellowship trained in research, she remains actively involved in research and has authored respected publications, and book chapters.
