Matthew Brackman Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Brackman, a graduate of Tufts University and Boston University, has been performing weight loss surgery for over 15 years.  He received fellowship training at The Ohio State Medical Center in minimally invasive bariatric surgery. At the forefront of the laparoscopic revolution in bariatric surgery in the early 2000’s; Dr. Brackman published peer reviewed journal articles and presented at national and international meetings.  He has held memberships to the ASMBS, and SAGES, the preeminent laparoscopic and bariatric societies in the world.  He is active in public policy, serving as a Delegate to the Massachusetts Medical Society, and the Massachusetts State Medical Tribunal. His pioneering efforts have helped to bring new technologies to Western Massachusetts, including the LINX device to treat GERD, and the Intragastric Balloon for obesity.  Dr. Brackman is also at the forefront of telehealth; launching BariatricsLive.com.  BariatricsLive.com provides virtual services to the weight loss patient; eliminating the need for travel, saving time and money, and providing assistance for urgent matters.
