Melissa Gomez Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Melissa Gomez, M.D. Melissa Gomez, M.D., is a board-certified internal medicine physician and board-eligible obesity medicine physician who focuses on health, wellness and the holistic treatment of obesity through both surgical and non-surgical approaches. She is the medical director of the wellness program at MountainView Regional Medical Center. A Las Cruces native, Dr. Gomez received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. She earned a medical degree from University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and completed residency training at Texas Tech University in El Paso, Texas. She is passionate about her patients, and she is fluent in Spanish. In her spare time, Dr. Gomez enjoys being outside, running with her dogs and trying new low-carb recipes.
