Dr. Purdy is not a surgeon. She is an endocrinologist, specializing in working with persons who have diabetes and are morbidly obese.
Although I had been approved for lapband surgery, she asked me to try working with her. I was amazed that I could avoid surgerg, eat 6 meals daily, and eventually lose 122 pounds.
No question asked was too obtuse, calls wee returned in a timely manner. Dr. Purdy has a superior sense of humor and a strong sense of empathy for those of us who have tried 'everything,' to lose weight. Dr. Purdy never rushes her patients. I was never embarrassed being examined, or weighed. She was always positive.
My husband is a physician; she is the only other doctor I know, who returns calls immediately.
I wish that all of my physicians were as proactive as she!
