Alta Bates Summit Medical Center (COE) Hospital
Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is a very good hospital and the Bariatrics program is very well ran they have the patients best interest at heart so in my opinion they deserve to be a Center Of Excellence, the nurses that took care of me when I woke up were so kind and understanding and Helen Johnson from the Bariatric prgram was there everyday to see how I was doing and to talk over any concerns or questions I might have had also one of doctor Broderick-Villa PA's came to see me when he could'nt but he did make it a point to come by and check me the next morning. I would reccomend them to anyone considering weight loss surgery.
What fantastic staff. The nurses in 4 West were so attentive and nice beyond belief. I had a very nice private room and they brought my fiance a cot so that he could stay with me. I had my own bathroom with a shower and a beautiful view of the Golden Gate and Bay bridges. It was a fantastic experience.
My roommate and I both had the same procedure on the same day by the same surgeon. We LOVED the care we were getting until the last night. We both had bad nurses...but we were able to report them to the right people that came directly into our room and assured us that they would handle the issue. The parking garage is pricey...but over all, this is a great hospital with an awesome staff!
I had a great stay. Nurses very helpful. I can't really find anything to criticize. Just one event, when I was in their SCU-special care unit. Like a step-down unit. The first nurse I had kept asking me where the pain was and I continued to say "in my abdomen above my belly button." She just didn't seem to be listening.
