I had a great experience at ASH. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I had a nurse and tech assigned to me at all times, and they responded to all requests very quickly. I enjoyed my stay as much as is possible for a surgery, and I would definitely choose ASH again if I had another surgery in the future. The staff was great and the private room was spacious and quiet.

I had downloaded and completed the patient forms prior to my procedure, as I was out of town and could not have a one-on-one interview---but the hospital told me I couldn't send them in. The nurse did the nursing eval over the phone. I had to be at the hospital at 5am---only to complete the very same forms that I had done previously and was told I couldn't use. After completing those forms (which took 5 minutes), I sat for 1.25 hours before they even came to take me back. THAT was a bit ridiculous, in my opinion! However, the staff members and nurses were very nice and attentive, and I felt like I was being well taken care of. There was a VERY VERY loud, obnoxious and noisy patient next to me in the pre-op area and I wish the nurses had told her to tone it down, but that really isn't their fault. The only other complaint I have is that they did not give me ANY printed discharge directions. They had me sign something while in recovery, but I didn't realize until I got home that I didn't have a copy for myself.
