Blodgett Campus Hospital
The staff I had at spectrum was wonderful, I started getting spasms in my incision and the were right there and wanted to tell me what to do when they accured and gave me the meds needed to help with the pain. I would suggest this hospital to everyone cause they know how to deal with you as a patient of this surgery, and they do really care even if sometimes you think they are expecting alittle more out of you than you feel like giving. My first day after surgery they had me up walking and I only had to walk so far but I knew that I needed to do a little more cause walking is very important in your healing. If you are truely serious about this surgery then you have to be truely serious about doing what it takes to heal better. The hospital is wonderful and I would like to thank them personnally from my heart for being so wonderful.
Staff took a long time to respond to calls, thank goodness I had someone there with me. My roommate was loud and obnoxious (obviously not the hospital's fault). Why couldn't they room people who had similar surgeries together? No attention was paid to my diet (or lack thereof). No one offered me anything until about 2 hours before I was going home. My support person had to retrieve the water I needed. BUT the hospital was clean and I felt safe there and feel they were well-prepared for anything that would have happened.
The second shift nurse and aide I had both days were absolutely wonderful!! The third shift nurses were always very busy but were very attentive. I didn't particularly care for the nurse in xray who wasn't particularly sensitive to slow moving patients after surgery. In preop, the staff was absolutely terrific...I got a bit teary, and they were very comforting. Overall wonderful experience.
