  • About Us
The Weight Loss Surgery Program at Bristol Hospital is accredited as a  Comprehensive Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accredited Quality Improvement Program by the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. The MBSAQIP has awarded our weight loss program with level 1 accreditation, the highest level of accreditation available.  This means we provide complete care devoted to weight loss surgery, and manage the most challenging and complex patients with an optimal opportunity for a safe and effective outcome.  Our weight loss surgery program is designed to help patients reach their weight and health improvement goals in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.  The Bristol Hospital weight loss surgery program also received Blue Care Distinction, and is an Aetna Institutes of Quality recipient which measures patient satisfaction, level of care, and post surgical readmission rates.     Severe obesity is a chronic disease that affects millions of Americans every year.  For the vast majority of severely obese people, diets and medications only help with temporary weight loss.  Metabolic and bariatric surgical procedures have been shown to reduce obesity, improve mortality, and decrease the health risks from chronic diseases.   Our weight loss surgery team is committed to providing you with the education, tools, and coaching to help you prepare for a successful and life-changing journey.  We offer a comprehensive program- not simply a surgical procedure.  To help our patients achieve a complete lifestyle change, our program pulls together the skills from a variety of Bristol Hospital professionals, including: Fellowship-trained surgeons Bariatric trained APRN Bariatric nurse caregivers Dietitians Mental health providers Our office is conveniently located in the Medical Office Building, 25 Newell Road, Suite C-14, Bristol.  You can contact our office by calling 860.585.1560.
