Cayuga Medical Center Hospital

most of my stay and care was great, I however did not like being left in a hall way for over an hour, and being told they forgot I was out there. The night in ICU was Great the nurses there are on the ball. When i was moved to my semi-private room i was left without a call light and had to ask the lady in there to ring her bell so i could get some help. After being forgotten in the hall i was moved to the peds unit which was okay and I had great nurses there and a private room. over all I would stay there again if needed:)

This hospital was fine with the day to day care of a patient. My MD was very attentive and addressed things immediately. I was put in a room with a room-mate who had constant visitors and calls. Her whole family came and ate T-giving dinner while I sat sipping broth. She was up all night--which caused me to be up all night. When I asked my nurse @ 2:30am if there was anything that could be done she told me to have my husband bring in ear plugs. I'm sure this doesn't happen to eveyone who is admitted there.

Although the area of gastric bypass surgery is new over the past 12 months at this hospital, in my opinion they did excellent research in techniques to offer, have competent staffing and have educated supporting staff well in preparation for offering this option to the morbidly obese population. I believe they will continue to expand and improve their services to the community and surrounding area.
