Community Hospital Monterey Peninsula (COE) Hospital

Every department I dealt with at CHOMP was a reassuring and pleasant experience. From my pre-registration, which I did over the phone, to reporting to Short-Stay to be prepped for admittance, to the gentlemen that had to wheel me back & forth to x-ray and the operating room, to the anethesiologist (don't know how to spell it) right before surgery to the recovery nurses to the post-surgery staff, I say thank you, thank you, thank you! They made me feel that my comfort and complaints were important to them. And for that I am so appreciative.

I am a Chomp employee, so perhaps I received different care than other patients, but I doubt it. From the Short Stay unit where my hospitalization began to the med/surg unit Garden South, I can only say good things. Every step flowed like clockwork. I arrived and was quickly greeted by the Short Stay staff. My history was reviewed,VS taken, preop meds given, and my IV started. Then off to the OR, where the staff quickly and courteously greeted me and whisked me within minutes into the operating suite. The next thing I recall, I was in the recovery room with my nurse hovering over me to assess and relieve my pain and nausea. Once I was alert enough, and my bed ready, I was quickly taken to my room. I remained there the rest of my stay. The staff was wonderful. My nurses were very quick to bring me pain medicine (except once), and checked on me frequently. The nurse's aides were all delightful. Overall, I could not have asked for a nicer experience, or more responsive staff.
