Nursing staff was indescribable, my stay was a horrific expererience that I hope I never have to deal with again in my lifetime. The nursing staff was imcompassionate, unsympathetic, and lacked in many areas. There was a great lack of communciation between nursing/residents and surgeon during post-op care. I wouldnt recommend this hospital to anyone.

I had a blood clot in my left lung early 2007. The change in anti-coagulation meds was a guessing game causing a longer stay than normal. Due to my unique situation, I had a lot of student doctors visiting me. I was repeating my story multiple times per day, even when I had visitors. It was hard to tell the first week who the ACTUAL doctor was reviewing my case. I had a semi-private room which I had to share with a very rude, disrespectful, elderly man. The nursing staff disregarded my repeat requests to be moved to a different room during my stay. This is definitely a hospital to be careful with if you are not lucid - nurses almost gave me incorrect medications on a few occasions and in many cases they didn't have the proper orders from the doctor. Had I not been lucid, my stay would have been AT LEAST 2 days longer than it already was because of incorrect dosages being given to me. They did not have a CT machine that could handle my weight which caused a delay in official diagnosis as well.
On a positive note, once I started having repeat visits from the medical staff (same doctors & nurses), I felt a great sense of comfort from their care. One of the doctors did a lot of research on my behalf of my unique case. One of the residents even remembered me a few months later according to one of my co-workers when they met her at random.

Facility is nice... Operating experience good except that when in Recovery, they could not locate IV equip to start pain meds for about 25 minutes... I was in a lot of pain for those few minutes. On the unit, nurse staffing was very short - trying to get help to go to bathroom etc was not great. Two hours went by after calling for nurse several times and finally, I unplugged my own equip and made it to the bathroom myself. I recommend having family or friend stay overnight with you if possible in case you need help.
