Very clean, modern and has a wonderful Bariatric Deparment. All steps of the process are covered, from the Bariatric Coordinator, nutionist, exercize program at a VERY reasonable rate , support group meetings and general helps!. Kind, helpful and patient.

The only criticism I have is that they gave me NO
information or instruction about the food trays. The bariatric coordinator was out of town the day of my surgery, and no one took her place. Her discharge instruction were confusing. She was clearly unprepared for a patient having a VSG.

They were very responsive to pain needs, asthma care, and patient care. Good experience, considering the circumstances.

The surgical experience was fine and the bariatric nurse/coordinator is Excellent.

BUT the rest of them are the pits!! Especially the nurses aides who were rude and insensitive to an obese persons needs post-op. (I needed assistance with toileting at first and the attitude from them was amazing to me)

The nurses took my blood pressure using too SMALL of a cuff for the first 24 hrs post-op and thus based on those readings, it was decided I had high blood pressure and started me on medications. I didnt have high BP prior to surgery. Once the night nurse (on the 2nd day) discovered the wrong size cuff, my pressure reading were slightly elevated (due to pain/post-op) but withing normal ranges. BUT since they started the medication, I had to be weaned off of it over a 1 month period of time!!!!!!!
(Carafate patch)

Additionally, the walker provided to me to get out of bed post-op was broken (a loose screw that held the hand grip on). I pointed this out to the floor nurse and she stated that was how it is supposed to be so that it can fold up. I later pointed it out to the bariatric nurse who was appalled that I had been told that and given broken equipment to use.

The nurses were convinced I had diabetes and would come in and test my blood sugar. I insisted to them that I did not have diabestes but they saw that I was taking Glucophage (Metformin) on my chart and thus the assumption was made. They kept pricking my fingers and getting normal readings. Finally my surgeon remedied this!!

Finally, I paid my hospital fees ( i cash paid) for a 3 night stay. On the 2nd day I felt good enough to go home and was released with my surgeon's blessing. When I approached the hospital to be refunded for not staying that last night, they told me it is a "package deal" for those that pay cash. That I cannot be reimbursed for time I didnt choose to stay. That the price remains the same whether I left after 1 day or 3 !!!

I used this hospital because it is where my surgeon does his procedures....I will never choose to go back to this hospital ever again. Unless, of course, I need my surgeon to do something for some reason.

I had two stays, one in 1999 and one in 2001 and both times were riddled with issues from trouble getting a private room to members of the nursing staff having a personal agenda regarding pain medication.

The nurses & professional staff were great; however, the general staff was not very responsive. I was pretty out of it due to the pain meds, but I'm pretty sure my sheets were never changed while I was there.

The nursing staff was very polite, the physical therapy that comes to assist in the walking was extremely attentive. This was one of the better experiences that I have had at a medical facility in a very long time.

The staff was sensitive and caring. All the obesity surgical patients have private rooms with oversized recliners as well as bars over the beds to help with getting in and out of bed. I don't know of any others in my area that is as accommodating. But, I think this hospital was the best.

Very accomodating. My room had a huge recliner that my husband slept in during my stay.
