I thought that the preop nurses rocked my world. THe postop nurses were horrible. One of them even stole my Kindle while I was out of the room walking the halls.

Dr. Dutta is an awesome surgeon, I love how he tells you the real deal, no b.s. I think his bedside manner is impeccable, you can tell he really cares about his patients. the office staff is awesome, from the receptionists to the M.A.'s everyone is so cool and nice. there is not one negative thing I can say about Dr. Dutta. He's awesome!

I was ignored by my nurse for two hours in pre-op, while the nurse for the fellow in the next cubicle could not have been more attentive and accomodating. Just the luck of the draw, I guess. Once in my room after surgery I had two really great nurses, one in the afternoon, one that night. The next morning I had a nurse who rarely showed up, and that was only after I had to call. She was horrible. Maybe the day shift is busier than the other shifts, but I was detached from my IV pain meds at 9:00 am, and didn't see her again until I was walking the halls late that afternoon. I finally got more meds as I was sitting in the wheelchair waiting to be discharged. I wasn't in much pain, or I would have been pressing that buzzer, demanding attention. I'm sure someone would have responded.
Overall, it was a great hospital, and the good nurses made up for the bad ones.
The hospital gowns were HUGE! No ass flapping in the breeze with those! A welcome change from most Dr.'s offices and other hospitals.

Dr. Chu is a very friendly person. She is a mom and a surgeon that really cares about her patients. I have no complaints about her other than her calendar seems really packed and she is often running behind. That is because she really spends time with her patients and answers all questions put to her.
She told me that "I was not wasting one second of her time if I changed my mind and decided to not have the surgery."

She even asked me the day OF the surgery if I still wanted to do it and wanted to give me an out if I wanted one. I highly recommend Dr. Chu, she is awesome! The preop nurses ROCKED, postop nurses were a little less highly rated but overall I cannot complain about the care I got.

Dr. Dutta is the best. He is very caring and compassionate and very approachable. I would recommend him wholeheartedly to anybody looking for a great surgeon in the Kaiser Health Care Plan. The only thing that would possibly be a negative is that I could not see him after my 3 month check up. I saw another doctor in the bariatric group, Dr. O'Brien, who was very helpful too. Just was different talking to a doctor who I had never met before. Overall, I received the best care while in the hospital and so far have received great care after surgery.

I first met Dr. Dennen at the informational seminar that all potential patients have to attend. He didn't know it at the time but he made such an impression on me. He is straight to the point and it deeply effected me. The Kaiser Fremont program is absolutely the best. The team is professional, caring, knowledgable and extremely organized. Dr. Dennen explained the procedures and made his recomendation for me as the RNY. I had my procedure on 4/28/10. Dr. Dennen is a fantastic surgeon, I had my pain well managed in the hospital. I did not have any complications. The aftercare program is extremely clear and well organized everything from the post op appointments to the meetings with the nutritionist. This surgery is a very serious matter and I couldn't have asked for any better care than that of Dr. Lawrence Dennen at Kaiser in Fremont.

Ive only met Dr Hahn once at my initial consult but liked him instantly. Even my mom and daughter approved. I will post more about him after I have my RNY!

The staff made me feel very comfortable the entire time. Surgery is awful and they made it bearable.
