He's extremely thorough and requires many pre-op tests, etc. I feel very secure with him as my surgeon.

I really like Dr Goldstein and his staff. He is kind, professional, and knowledgeable. The staff is friendly as well. They have been very helpful during this process. The doctor did a seminar on weight loss surgery and patiently answered many of our questions...no question was too insignificant. The aftercare program is robust, with follow ups both with the surgeon, and the New Beginnings program that he is part of, who teach you all about fitness and what to eat, even offering a grocery store tour.rnI have not yet had my surgery, but I have met with Dr Goldstein a couple of times and I am very happy that I chose him.

Very nice and personable but appears very inexperienced. I attended one of his lectures and I got the impression he has only done 4 or 5 surgeries on his own - his experience was as a resident. It also seemed as if he is limiting his surgery to the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy - don't kbnow if that is because of problems with leaks in the past or the hospital that he works out of (Kennedy in Stratford) reputation for complications with Roux -n-y.

This facility needs some major renovations and improvements in how patients and visitors are treated. While visiting there was not a chair large enough for me to sit in and I had to stand for the entire visit. It was upsetting to overhear conversations about being understaffed and complaints about administration being unsupportive. I personally do not want to be a patient in a facility that is understaffed and unhappy and appears to be insensitive to the needs of the obese population.

HE WAS VERY NICE. HE IS YOUNG.rnVERY SERIOUS ABOUT HIS WORK. HE IS ALLrnBUSINESS. VERY INTENT ON THE LIST HErnGIVES YOU, AND WANTS IS ALL DONE.rnVERY UP FRONT ON ANY PROBLEMS WErnMIGHT HAVE WITH THE SURGERY, BUTrnTHINKS I WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE IT.rnUNTIL THE LIST IS DONE, I DO NOTrnSEE HIM AGAIN. WHEN I DO SEE HIMrnWE GO OVER EVERYTHING AND THAN STARTrnON INS. CO. OFFICE STAFF IS VERY NICErnAND SEEM TO LOVE THEIR JOB, AND ARE VERY UP-BEAT. WHAT I LIKED THE LEASTrnWAS. I WISH HE WAS A LITTLE MORErnPERSONABLE, I'M NOT USE TO THE ALLrnBUSINESS TYPE, BUT I THINK ALOT OFrnSPECIAL DOC'S ARE THAT WAY, YOU HAVErnTHE SURGERY AND MOVE ON. I THINK HErnWILL BE GOOD AT WHAT HE DOES.rnHE DOES TELL YOU ABOUT A GROUP THATrnYOU MUST JOIN CALLED \"NEW BEGINNINGS\".rnSO THAT YOU WILL BE A SUCCESS. YOUrnALSO HAVE TO ATTEND A SEMINOR WITHrnHIM, BEFORE HE WILL SEE YOU IN HISrnOFFICE. STRUCTURED AFTERCARE, YESrnWE TALKED A LITTLE ABOUT THAT.rnHE LISTED ALL THE RISKS AND PERSENTAGES. I THINK THIS YOUNG MANrnIS VERY SERIOUS ABOUT WHAT HE IS DOINGrnAND WANTS NOTHING BUT SUCCESS. IrnWOULD RATE HIM \"VERY GOOD\".rnIT IS GREAT TO HAVE BOTH COMPETENCErnAND BEDSIDE MANNER, BUT THErnMOST IMPORTANT IS COMPETENCE.rnrn

I really liked Dr Goldstein from the start, he didn't make me feel like I was an outcast for being in this condition. Very understanding of my feelings and my concerns.
I think the staff at Advanced Laproscopic Surgeons was great... they are all very helpful and very caring.
What I think any future patients need to know is that Dr. Goldsten knows his stuff, I was hesitant about getting a filter in place in order to prevent blood clots, but after speaking with him he made me feel that he has my very best interest at heart, and he takes all precautions to make sure you are ok.
Very insightful on aftercare and explained all the risks very well.
I rate him overall with an A+++... I Thank God for him, for giving him the knowledge to help people with obesity.

Overall I was very impressed with both Dr. Goldstein and his office. Although he seems a bit younger than the other surgeons in the group, I had no reservations about selecting him as my surgeon after hearing him speak at the information session I attended prior to my first office visit. Dr. Goldstein seems very knowledgeable and very thorough. He does the band as well, but I wanted the bypass. He explained the reasons behind every evaluation (cardiologist and gastroenterologist) that he wanted me to have prior to having the surgery. I left his office feeling like all the bases were covered. Although he is very nice, and easy to talk to, he is also very straightforward and seems to take no risks or shortcuts in the evaluation. The surgery went very smoothly. Only two nights in the hospital and I was home. I felt he did an excellent job preparing me for surgery. There were no surprises. The preop class that you are required to attend really prepares you well for the whole process. Overall I would rate Dr. Goldstein a 9/10 and would recommend him to anyone considering the surgery, but be prepared - his office is pretty busy.

The nurses were wonderful, and those that had to do test and transport me back and forth they were great.
