Lenox Hill Hospital

Generally very impressed with the professionalism, yet compassion by each department I came in contact with. Post-op UGI personnel were very pleasant during a trying time! Lab draws, and there were many, were quick and precise.Only regret...my large bottom unfortunately needs a large gown. There weren't enough available. The chair in my room also was a little tight for the ripeness of the bottom area! (ahem!) But truly, I'd rather have all medical issues met before having gowns and chairs, so I feel rather silly mentioning it.

I was uncomfortable having a male nurse and in general did not feel the nurses were quick to respond when called. I also want to note I was not on 8 Wollman, as I was told I would be. I was on a random floor with patients who had other surgeries. I had hoped to share a room with a WL patient. However, i did have my own room for a day and a half, which was nice. Overall it was pretty clean (I'm a tough critic) and the people were nice. I just wish I had more nurse supervision (I was so nervous about everything).

It was very clean and the staff responded right away to any calls.

The Surgeon is top notch! The staff at the hospital is FANTASTIC! Only with the exception of one nurse.

My stay was very, very good. From the time I can in till I left the next day, the staff was wonderful. The Nurses on 8E were the best. They were always there for your needs however small they might have been. I can truely say that my stay was excellent

PEOPLE IN THE ROOM AT ALL HOURS, NO CONCERRN FOR REST. CALL BELLS GO UNANSWERED BY NURSES. POOR SERVICE

Lenox Hill was very dirty and dingy and most of the time, the nurses did not wear gloves when they should have (taking blood, giving injections, checking wound sites etc.). Again, I would go to any hospital where Dr. Kurian would be my surgeon, but I felt the care and cleanliness of the hospital was average to poor at best.
PS - I have just read other reviews of Lenox Hill. Apparently things have changed since my surgery almost one year ago. Kudos to Lenox Hill for improving so much. It was very important that things got better. Now, there is no reason to go anywhere else or to have any other surgeons besides Dr. Kurian, or her associates!

The new Bariatrics Wing at Lenox Hill is quite posh and spanking new. Nurses were great about administering heparin and demerol shots when necessary. I was very fortunate in that I had no roommate for the bulk of my stay and it was like having a private room. If you end up at Lenox Hill, consider yourself the most fortunate patient in the world if your overnight nurse is Bella ... She is truly a cut above her colleagues on the nursing staff (although none of them really sucked). It is nearly a month since I had my surgery and the thought of Bella still brings a smile to my face. She is a bit of a thing but so strong and accomodating in every way. So many others on the nurse and aide staffs would not help you get up by using their strength, claiming bad backs. Bella didn't even blink. God bless nurses as dedicated as she was because she made half my stay exceptional. Unfortunately she was off the other two days.

I would go back if need be in a minute.I alo would recommend anyone to go and stay
