Over all my experience was truly better than I expected. The 5th floor was very hot for some reason and that posed a problem from time to time. I left my door open for circulation and it helped. The other issue was the new bariatric beds they have. It is awesome but not everyone is familiar in how to use them and I wound up being the test case and got a little irritated over it. One of the night nurses (although very sweet) was a little airheaded and made me stand for 15 mins while she tried to adjust the bed instead of finding help. BUT that I have to say was TRULY the only bad experience I had. I did have a private room. Everyone knocks before entering. Sometimes it took a little longer than I would have liked to get meds so if you need them tell them right away so that by the time you really need them they are there. The nurses were awesome. Deanna was mostly my nurse...also Latash and asst. Wanda. Thank you for making me feel like home and making my stay as best as you could. It made all the difference in the world.
The staff in ICU, especially Vtor Lewis was excellent. Couldnt ask for better care a real Godsent. The staff in the general unit was a bit different. They had to be called whenever I needed my meds changed. One shift was not respectful of the other coming on. I believe they are understaffed. I had to ask to be walked or a friend came by to help me.
