Mountain View Hospital
The overall of the hospital was excellent, but there was one problem that I am still upset about. The person in charge of the finances told me that my charges were to include the difference from the cost of surgery and what the Insurance paid. I called my insurance and found out that with my policy this was not the case (2 times), but she still insisted that I was going to pay the difference. She also said that I would be responsible for the deductable even though I am paying the Dr the deductible. This woman is greedy.

I was moved 3 times to different rooms during my stay. The first time I was on floor 3 and it was quite noisy and unable to rest due to noise. Moved to the 4th floor where it was definately quiter. I had one nurse who was extremely nice but also very busy who checked out that she was to give me my pain medicine but forgot to give it to me before her shift change. I was without pain meds for 6 hrs, and this was on my 2nd day, so I was in pain still. There was a nurse assistant named Pam that was the best! She took care of me as if I was her own family. I give big props to Pam!
The reason that I gave a poor rating on the "quiet" question is that the intermediate care rooms are divided by curtains(most of them). I was one of the unfortunate patients to be placed next to a VERY RUDE person who kept his TV blaring all day & night. This happened my last evening at the hospital. The other nights where quiet & peaceful. As far as the pain meds... the 1st shift of nurses apparently did not follow my Dr's instructions and did not give me the appropriate amount of pain meds...Finally a very kind nurse (Stone) followed the given orders & I was fine after this. I don't think they realized that I have horrid back pain.
All in all, everyone I came in contact at Mountain View where very accomodating & kind...they are busy but go out of thier way to help you.Overall stay was just fine.
A nurse murdered my husband, the hospital is not equipt to help when they already have the equipment to help in emergencies!
