North General Hospital Hospital

North General is not the worse hosptial, but can improve on things. I think it's main problem is being too overcrowded and understaffed, at least as far as their clinics are concerened. Better communication and profesionalism should also be practiced by much of their staff. However, there are also some excellent people there as well. While most nurses can use further training, many are excellent and courteous. If I had to do it over, I would not choose this hospital, mainly due to post-op clincial care. It pains me to say this, 'cause there really are excellent people there, but I have to be honest. However, I would not change who I had as a surgeon.

My partner had bariatric surgery at NGH. She and I were very pleased with the surgeon, however the overall coordination of patient care was horrible.
Over 2 days, each meal tray she received had a beverage or food she was not allowed to eat. She ended up drinking juice with sugar (assuming it was sugar free) and got very sick.
After talking to the nurses of 2 shifts over 2 days, as well as talking with the doctors on rounds over 2 days, her pre op medication regeme was still not resumed. I am afraid what might have happened if she and I were not on top of her care every minute.
