Park West Hospital

everthing went grat and I was very happy with my stay

They have free valet parking which is awesome. Especially for someone who's coming into the hospital for something like bariatric surgery and can't walk very far or something like that. Also, all the nurses that took care of me while I was there were really sweet, helpful, and encouraging. Whenever I'd get out in the halls to walk, there'd always be someone there telling me I was doing good.

After I arrived home a few days later I got a rash that went all over my stomach, under my arms, on top of my breast and under neath my breast,my neck, top of my leg fold. it burnt so red blistered and pealed i was so miserable, not to say scared, that it would attach my incisions, tubes and etc. I itched so bad. I called my MD who saw me right away. well needless to say He finally solved the puzzle for me. It was what i was scrubbed with in pre op surgery.
allergic reaction. I was so mad!! because the hospital staff was well aware of my being allergic to bedadine and Idoine. i am highly allergic to bedadine and iodine" it blisters on me" and that was noted. several times and recorded. and what did they do they cost me a lot of pain and suffering.

Parkwest was wonderful! The staff is amazing. They are always there for you. The parking is great, since it is free valet...You don't have to worry about a thing. They let you squeeze by with the visitors rule, as long as you aren't too loud and visitors don't stay too long... I had 5 people and my 7 month old son in my room at one point. Overall it is an excellent hospital and provided me with excellent care.

They need to locate more convenient parking for the handicap. They only have a very small lot located in front of the hosiotal for handicap parking. They do offer valet parking but only between certain hours. After those hours you have to go down a huge hill into a large lot to find your car. Not convenient for someone in a wheel chair.

My stay was pretty well other then I did get a blood clot in my arm from a IV stick, I had to tell them for a few days something was going on with my arm, had to track down charge nures to get things moving to get it took care of. I think they thought it was just infiltrated.
But as soon as she got things going it moved fast to get it looked at and the meds I needed. But I could have did without the 4 day delay getting it took care of. But all the nures's and all the other staff even the cleaning sevr people were nice.
