The nurse was okay. Didn't really check on me throughout my stay. My surgeon came to see me and had great bedside manner, maybe he should teach the nurse something... and I did not wake up in recovery. I woke up In my hospital room all alone. I was scared. Not knowing where I was bc of the influence of my medicines.

I experience at Presbyterian was fantastic. I had great care from admitting to discharge. The preop, OR holding were great with me. All the nurses and assistants on 5A were fantastic. I am not a lightweight. They had everything I would need especially for someone of my size. They had me up and walking. Pain was managed perfectly. They gave me swabs to dip in water until I could have water. They started me on glucerna the next day. No problems. Could not have asked for better care. My overall rating is excellent.

I had a great experience at Presby. From the first nurse I saw in pre op to the pre op holidng area, to recovery and then back to my room. I was only in one night but the people in the nurses station on 5A were incredible! They were helpful and encouraging. They bought me a fan and my hubby a pillow and a blanket (because I was feezing him with the fan!) They answered any question I had and expalined why they were doing what they were doing. I felt like I had my own cheerleading group! They were awesome!

They kept me in the recovery room for an extra 7 hours because a room was not available for me. My husband spent over 12 hours in the waiting room. My mouth completely dried out in recovery, I wasn't offered any liquids until I complained in pain. The meals offered to me post-surgery were not appropriate to just having had surgery (ensure? really? too soon, too thick). I was not encouraged to walk enough, I felt trapped in the bed from the compression contraptions on my legs. There should have been a chair in the room that would have allowed easy sitting and moving around. I felt pressured and paniced when I couldn't void after having the catheter removed, when in fact, I wasn't receiving enough fluids. In all, a horrible experience and I was supremely happy to drag myself home as soon as possible.
