Reston Hospital Center Hospital
They were timely, sensitive and extremely informative. There was a minor delay with the operating room becoming available but everyone involved was wonderful about explaining the delay and everything that was happening. I never felt "alone." They were also great about letting my husband, children and a couple of friends all visit in my room immediatly after I came out of recovery. That was good for all of us! The nurses were very responsive to me asking for pain mediciation and assistance for using the bathroom. Over all it was a great experience considering it was surgery.
The hospital is rather new, built in the late 1980's. The hospital is going thru a huge expansion at the present time. They are adding a number of buildings and a large parking garage. From the outside of the hospital one could easily get the impression that the entire hospital is being built and at times it is hard to believe that the hospital is open. Every road and external surface is torn up and being updated and the new buildings are being connected to the old buildings. I was a bit concerned that the construction noise and/or dirt would effect my stay. To my surprise and delight. I didn't hear even a nail hit the floor while in my room. Once inside the hospital, you wouldn't know any construction was taking place. The staff were great and the surgical prep crew made me feel very comfortable.
