Rivercrest Surgical Center Hospital

My family members felt like they were rude in general. They wouldn't let my husband go back to see me until it was almost time for me to go home. I had to go through the "waking up" and "getting up out of bed" stage with the nurses alone. I didn't like that much.
I would suggest that they let 1 family member come back to sit with the patient after she/he is out of surgery.
They were only going to let my family see me when it was time for me to leave and get in a car. That's not right. I had just undergone surgery for the first time and they were worried. It was of no consequence to the staff though. I overheard one of the nurses say, "the family is getting testy, I guess we have to let them see her." That is rude and uncalled for.
My family kept asking how I was doing and the receptionist kept saying, "no news is good news". That isn't enough. There was no correspondence from the nurses to the reception area to let the waiting room know what was going on. That is a regular thing at other surgical centers that I have been at with my parents.
Finally, they did let my husband and mom see me and help me get dressed and ready. My mom had to get "testy" as they put it with the reception to make that happen though. She shouldn't have.
I think all in all, this center is lacking in patient/family member sensitivity and needs help.
