Southeast Alabama Medical Center Hospital
My one bad experience was when the took me down to xray to take that dye test. It's a long story. To put is short, I felt that NO one in there cared about me, especially the pain I was in. The Radiologist had the worst bed side manner EVER. I felt unsafe when the put that table vertical and no one was close enough to catch me if I did fall. There was one young man that came in at the end of the test and he was the ONLY one with kindness. I told my surgeon, he rattled some heads, I got a phone call 10 mins after I walked in the door from seeing him. Told them about what happen, and my main reason for complaining is so the next patient that rolls in is treated A LOT better.
ONE MORE THING please watch what they bring you on your tray. First tray I got had full of sugar popsicle. The next day I got cranberry juice with lots of sugar.. My surgeon banged some heads in Dietary over that!
The BEST care I got was with surgery. from the time I walked into the room to get ready till after surgery and they took me to a room. I was treated like a princess
I thought that most of the nurses who worked the 3 days I was in the hospital were not very attentive and when I rang the nurses station for help they made me feel as if I bothering them. I had to wait over 2 hours for the dressing to be changed at one point and I felt as if no one was in a hurry to do anything for me. I will say I had a wonderful nurse that attended to my every whim the last night I spent in the hospital, she was wonderful and by far the most positive experience I had with the nurses.
