Just Ducky - The Meditative Hag for St. Alexius NewStart

It is one of the older hospitals in St. Louis, but it is a Center of Excellence and they are really, really good about working with bariatric patients.
They took really good care of me while I was there and I have no complaints at all. Everyone from the nurses to the anesthesiologist and radiologist and orderlies were really helpful and caring and good at what they did.

I got very lucky to have the nurse and tech on duty the evening I had surgery. They made sure all my needs were met and with kindness and compassion. I wasn't quite so lucky when the day shift came on duty. I just got out of there as soon as I could!

The hospital was old but clean. Most people were friendly enough. The medical care i received from my MD was excellent. I would say that the care in the holding area and PACU was also good. The floor needs to work on their nursing skills and process.

I personnally think the hospital and staff were very sufficient in their knowledge of my condition and would recommend it to anyone considering the same kind of surgery that I had.

I thought my stay at St. Alexius could not have been better. They specialize in WLS so the staff is well adjusted to the needs of patients after WLS. Also, several of the nurses on the bariatric floor have had WLS too. I read several poor reviews of St. Alexius before my surgery on 9-18-08, but I have to say I do not have one negative comment. Everyone there was absolutely wonderful and very accomodating. I had a private room, where they had a love seat that folded out into a twin bed so that my husband was able to stay there with me. Again, had a wonderful experience...

I was extremely pleased with this hospital from admitting to discharge. The staff, Dr.'s, nurses went above & beyond the call of care & compassion.
I will recommend this hospital to anyone considering WLS surgery. Very proffessional. Keep up the good work St. Alexius!

THIS HOSPITAL WAS VERY GOOD, THEY TOOK REALLY GOOD CARE OF ME. FROM THE PRE TESTING, TO THE EXIT AFTER SURGERY EVERY STAFF MEMBER I INCOUNTERED WERE NICE AND FRIENDLY
