St. Alphonsus Hospital
Very good, nice people - they gave me a private room which was really good.
The hospital over all was great. The facilities, the dr's, the nurses. However, i must say that I was not as impressed with the night nurses as I was with those in the day. Everyone was caring and seemed concerned with my well-being.
I could not have asked for better care, the staff was wonderful, Nurses...all wonderful, from the time was was admitted to the time of discharged..Thank you St Al's and staff
Everything about the hospital was acceptable. Everyone's attitudes were great. The only problem I had was one nurse performed a procedure in the middle of the night without a doctor's orders. I found this out because my chart was left in my room when I returned from the radiology department and I looked through it. The particular nurse had written a note to the doctor asking him to write orders to cover her actions. I would suggest you check on EVERYTHING and make sure it's something your doctor has ordered. It turned out the procedure the nurse performed was unneccesary and had she waited to consult the Dr. the next morning, she would have been told this. Also, in the radiology department, I was totally furious with how they treated me. I was made to lay flat on a steel table, then expected to get up by myself with NOTHING to hang on to and no assistance. If you've had this surgery, you know that's nearly impossible. They finally remembered the table could be put in a standing position, so that's how I got up. While standing, they were putting a camera in front of my stomach and rammed the camera into my incision. They seemed to be pretty unfeeling in the whole process. It's too bad, because they ruined my "perfect" opinion of St. Als. But the nursing care was excellent.
The majority of the nursing staff was AWESOME...there were a couple though that I wondered about, but thats par for the course I imagine.
