St Francis Hospital
My journey began at Franciscan St. Francis Weight Loss Center (Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence)in Indianapolis, Indiana. The staff their is friendly and thorough in patient care. You become a candidate and have to complete the qualification process for surgery. The staff is always available to help out. They have surgeons, nurses, registered dietitians, counselors, insurance, and office assistance. Once you qualify and receive your surgery date, you go through another screening process to prepare you for surgery. St. Francis Hospital is a warm, beautiful, state-of-the-art facility, and the staff is outstanding. The only problem noted is the many carts the night staff use should to be replaced/oiled so that the tremendous racket they make won't disturb sleeping patients.
Great program from start to finish. They took great care of me and my needs. They were encouraging and very nice. I enjoyed talking with the nurses they were awesome!
I loved my nurses. I know they were crazy-busy, but they always had time to answer my questions and had a great attitude.
I love hospitals run by the catholic nuns, they all seem to be very patient oriented.
nice
people
and
very
helpful
Nursing and aid staff seemed unfamiliar with post op care.
Before surgery there were no problems but after recovery on 9 tower the 3-11 and 11-7 nursing staff was rude and insulting,my family member had to sleep sitting up in a chair because they refused to provide something for them to sleep on. The IV alarm was constantly going off because they put it where I could not move my arm at all.Any time I asked for help they acted like I should not be asking for anything. The 7-3 nursing staff was great ,very polite and understanding.
with only having an ounce of ice chips an hour and having to wait an extra hour to receive them...this happened several times...also when the call nurse button was pushed several times there was quite the delay in getting back with me..the CPA's were nice and i believe busy with to many to take care of..
The intensive care staff was fabulous, when they moved me to a regular room, the day staff was positive and responsive but the night staff was absolutely awful. They mixed up food orders, didn't respond to the call button, didn't know how to use the equipment I was hooked up to, they weren't friendly, one nurse repeatedly came in at 4:00 in the morning, turned on the light, did her thing and left without turning off the light, never to return. They ran out of food and once sent me unflavored yogurt (for general information, that essentially is spoiled milk in thick form), then acted surprised that I objected. So KUDOS to the day staff, the night staff was a nightmare.
In general I had good care. There were a few minor issues but all in all it was good.
