Town n' Country Hospital Hospital
First I have to say that Becky who is the bariatric coordinator is WONDERFUL. she was such a huge help and Elix the nutritionist was great as well. I love them both. However....
I was disappointed in most of the nursing staff. I seemed to know more about Lap Band then they did. I had to argue with them about not being able to swallow pills, it took almost an hour and half to get pains meds, I would finally just give up asking. The one night nurse REAKED of cig. smoke, her hands and fingernails were filthy, I didn't even want her touching me!

I was also there during the Hurricains last year and had to leave early due to evacuations. BUT, they also gave everyone the option of being transfered to Tampa General or going home IF there doctor oked it. I decided to go home. The fine print in my contract also stated flat out that since I pid cash at a set price I would not be intitled to a refund, even partial for any reason. ll in all it was a great hospital with great people well suited for overweight patients.
My experience allowed me to see how this facility handles situations that they can not control but affects them. On the day of my surgery, 15 minutes before I go into the OR. My original MD told me that the Wish Center was closing. They had not contacted me or the hospital. The administration was very helpful and understanding of the situation that I was in being 3 hours away from home. They helped me get in touch with Dr. Fernandez who was a life safer and preformed my surgery 3 days after the original date. The hospital could not have handled the situation any better.
