Michael Brown Plastic Surgeon MD
I first visited Dr. Brown in 03/03 to discuss my areas of concern and to learn about body lift surgery. We had several meetings during which Dr. Brown and I prioritized and determined a mutual approach to my surgery. We decided on a 2 phased approach: tummy tuck and partial front/lower body lift with excess skin removal, and a buttock/thigh lift with liposuction. I had the first surgery in 04/03 and the results are fantastic! Dr. Brown did an outstanding job on the surgery. I waited 6 months for the second surgery which I had in 10/03. The second surgery was more of a challenge and took almost 5 hrs. Once again, Dr. Brown did an outstanding job. The results far exceeded my expectations. Dr. Brown has a high level of professionalism, compassion, knowledge and committment. He works with you before, during, and post operatively to ensure the best of care and results, and focuses on a team approach which I found to be exactly what I was looking for.
I am still interviewing plastic surgeons but Dr. Brown has been the most informative, pleasant, professional, and reasonable PS I've met with so far. I find it hard to believe that the remaining surgeon will impress me more. He allowed more time for his initial consult than any other surgeon did to ensure you do not cross paths with someone you know while seeking information on plastic surgery. I found that to be extremely considerate, especially considering his consult is free. The information he provided was much more in-depth and informative than any other surgeon I spoke with and his experience with RNY surgery patients who had lots of excess skin made me feel good about selecting him as my surgeon.
I went in to see Dr. Brown for a complimentary consult. He informed me that he has a few other WLS patients and was happy to put me in touch with one in particular who had reached and maintained her goal weight for reconstructive surgery. He was very personalble, seemed extremely knowledgeable about his profession and was up-front and honest. When I reach the goal weight of 175 (for surgery) and can afford to proceed, Dr. Michael Brown will be my surgeon.
I had my plastic surgery on 11/29/02. The procedure took 6 hours and Dr. Brown took off 6.5 # of tissue. Today is 12/2/02, so I'm still very early in the recovery stage. Dr. Brown has been wonderfully caring and supportive thus far, willing to answer any questions and take as long as needed to make you comfortable with your plastic surgery decisions.
I had a lower body lift, an extensive procedure that will hopefully tighten the buttocks, tummy, and some of the thighs. It's hard to tell how everything will look yet, but Dr. Brown was very pleased with the results after surgery. I came home from the hospital on 12/1/02. Dr. Brown called my home Sunday night and yesterday to see how I am doing.
12/16/02. I'm doing well. On 12/13/02, I had to have a follow-up surgery to make some adjustments in the abdominal area. I took the dressing off last night and it looks great! Boy, I've never seen my tummy without a roll of either skin or fat on it. And my butt is much perkier than it was. I'm glad I did the lower body lift vs. just a tummy tuck. Dr. Brown is very pleased with my progress. He's been great!
7/15/02 - Dr. Brown is the best doctor I have ever met. He is extremely knowledgable and HONEST. He cares about you and is realistic. He spends all the time you need to talk and ask question. He is also a perfectionist and, if I could describe him, an artist. My surgery is scheduled for 9/9/02 - so I'll update more after that. His web site is http://www.rejuven8u.com/hasflash.html.
I had my surgery (lower body lift) on 9/9/02. I took 9 hours. He did a FANTASTIC job and I look forward to the next step (the thighs). I still highly recommend Dr. Brown! He's the best.
