Dr. Shastri has a great bedside manner and will take the time to explain anything you want to know. He is busy, so if you have ANY questions, ASK! Everyone I spoke to made some mention of how Dr. Shastri is an "artist" and very passionate about his work. I can only echo these sentiments. He is a wonderful doctor who does wonderful work. What more could you ask for?
That being said, I have to add that I was NOT thrilled with his office staff. The one girl is nice, but the one who does the scheduling/usually answers the phone is quite gruff. She is not very customer-oriented (to say the least) and makes you feel like you are wasting her time when you think of a question that you would like answered, are freaking out because something is happening with your incision or you are concerned because your surgery date got screwed up and it could possibly mess with other responsibilities in your life. She makes it clear that she could truly care less and you are just an annoyance to her. Gotta love that! :)
***UPDATE- I was confronted by the office staff about this review at my follow-up appointment today. Apparently I had the name messed up and people have been saying they don't want to talk to the "nice lady", because they think she is "gruff lady". I have removed the names and will let people figure it out for themselves. Glad my review is being utilized, though...if only SO THEY CAN KEEP A COPY IN MY PATIENT FILE. Wow. I feel like Elaine on Seinfeld. :)

I don't know much about him yet. The people in my support group have gone to him and they highly recommend him.
He did an amazing job on me, abdominoplasty, hernia repair and panniculectomy. I saw Dr. Shirley Anain as well and wasn't nearly as impressed with her work or manner. I know I chose the right surgeon. He gave me the abs of a 20 year old!
