Thomas Sterry Plastic Surgeon M.D.

I'm posting this review now 10/2017 having just had a 2nd plastics procedure done by Dr. Sterry. Eight years ago he did a body lift on me, which was a life changing experience for me totally complimenting my weight loss of 165 lbs. I re-entered the o/r with him 10/2017 for a thigh lift procedure. The results are fantastic. If you can express yourself and not be afraid to reveal to him the look you are seeking, he will be very upfront and honest as to if what you seek can be done and how he will do it. So be certain to express yourself to him or to any doctor. I think of Dr. Sterry as a body sculptor. He was able to restore my body to the shape it should have been had I never become obese.

Dr. Sterry is a perfectonist.... isnt that we we all want in a plastic surgeon....... He is so skillful and knowledge about wls patients...I have had several procedures with Dr. Sterry. I would highly recommend him.... Just remember we are not barbie....or Ken..

Thomas Sterry, he's your man. If he can't do it, nobody can! If you are looking for a physician who is both a skilled and talented surgeon and an artist, you don't need to look any further than Dr. Thomas Sterry. He did my face and neck lift a year ago, and I am just as delighted with it today as I was from the beginning. My recovery went very smoothly, with very little bruising and next to no pain! Dr. Sterry gave me a totally natural look; I don't look like a different person, just a more rested, youthful one. I had gastric bypass in 2007, and the weight loss left my face quite sagging, not to mention my "turkey neck." Since my plastic surgery by Dr. Sterry, my face and neck now match my "new body." Being transformed in this way has given me a much more youthful and energetic outlook on life. No one would ever guess I'll be 70 years old in just a little over a year. I would like to take this opportunity to commend someone who has changed my life, Dr. Thomas Sterry. I underwent lap band surgery in June of 2004. By 2007, I had reached the point where my excess flesh was so overwhelming, I suffered from rashes, back pain,humiliation and low self esteem. From the beginning of my 2 surgeries(lower body lift-10/07, breast lift and reduction-6/07), I found Dr. Sterry to be more than a Doctor. He is empathetic, thorough, concerned and has an immense degree of patience. He was never too busy to answer questions or address issues. From the consult to post surgery, he never hesitated to follow up, answer telephone calls promptly and demonstrated the highest level of professionalism. His office staff is courteous, helpful, committed and always available. I cannot say enough about this wonderful physician and his staff. I never felt neglected or put off and was made to feel like I was his most important patient. The quality of Dr. Sterry's work is impeccable. My surgeries resulted in my body feeling beautifully sculpted and attended to. I feel strongly that Dr. Sterry is truly an artist and he has helped me to realize my dream, one of being fit and able. I would highly recommend Dr. Sterry to anyone . His kind manner, knowledge of bariatric surgery and committment to his patients will definitely make a rather arduous process much more palatable. Dr. Sterry is a very compassionate physician. He really cares about you as the patient. He also has a good sense of humor. I am so happy I chose this doctor out of the several I interviewed!

I am scheduled for a lower body lift with Dr. Sterry on 4/4/07. When I first started researching plastic surgeons back in 2005, Dr. Sterry's profile stuck out amongst many very talented and well-respected plastic surgeons. He was always my first choice. He was later highly recommended to me and he once worked with my gastric bypass surgeon, Alfons Pomp - whom I respect a great deal. Dr. Sterry's office is comfortable, yet very professional. His staff is courteous and accommodating. My initial consultation with Dr. Sterry was great. His presentation was excellent - very informative and reassuring. He has done fantastic work and the fact that the majority of his practice is now dealing with weight loss surgery patients is very comforting - considering that we have special needs that some garden-variety plastic surgeons do not distinguish. I like that Dr. Sterry is down to earth and very forthcoming about the pros and cons of surgery. I am impressed with how he explains the advances in plastic surgery over the years and how he has fine-tuned his own techniques to cater the cookie-cutter procedures to more customized for the patient. I was equally impressed that his presentation shows male and female patients, younger and older patients, various degrees of difficulty, and various ethnicities. His financial coordinator is top-notch. She knows the plastic surgery business as well as the insurance game and medical billing procedures. I feel very confident about Dr. Sterry and will write an after-surgery review during my recovery.

I had my LBL with Dr. Sterry back in April and I just want to say that my original assessment of him is the same after 6 months post-op. He is a great surgeon. Experienced, professional and exacting. His staff is wonderful, very knowledgeable and personable. Dr. Sterry delivers what he says he will and is very candid about the challenges he anticipates. He is a cautious surgeon - meaning that he does not take chances with your care. Although he is very experienced and confident, he is not so cocky that he does not allow room for learning more and improving upon his techniques. He is a very comforting and easy to get along with surgeon with does a lot for you emotionally and I would definitely recommend him to others and plan to return to him for additional work.

After my gastric bypass ( lost about 180lbs) I looked into a couple of other plastic surgeons but Dr. Sterry is second to none!! From the consultation through post-op the service and skill were clearly evident. When I went on my consultation Dr. Sterry was very helpful and informative and not pushy at all. He was able to get the bulk of my surgeries (I had 3, 1.Tummy 2. Chest and Thigh 3. Arms and Back) covered under my insurance!!!! Which is incredible for plastic surgery. Throughout the whole process he was allways available day or night. Most importantly were the results...they were phenominal. I highly recommend Dr. Sterry for anyone who is considering a plastic surgeon. Fel free to email me if you have any questions.

Dr. Sterry is amazing. He performed a lower body lift on 11/14, 2005 and I am thrilled with the result. He will be doing a breast lift/arm lift on Feb 3. I interviewed several of the top plastic surgeons in New York City when I decided to begin my plastics and there was NO comparison when it came to Dr. Sterry. He has the most beautiful and discreet scars, the most bariatric expertise, and strives to always improve on his procedures. I have even been told by other doctors and nurses that his work on my lower body lift was the best they had ever seen after I showed them my scar. His bedside manner is impeccable and he is available if you call with any trouble -- even late at night or on Saturday mornings! (sorry about that, Dr. S!) Michelangelo. That is all I have to say. There is nothing I can add to describe his skill. Dr. Sterry is perfection! I had a Tummy Tuck and a Breast Reduction in one operation. When I opened the binders after the operation, I could hardly believe my eyes. He made my body BEAUTIFUL! Please understand my meaning. He took a disaster and made a masterpiece.
