I first met Dr. Maslavi while working in the ER coughing my head off. He asked me if I was on anything and I told him the pump. He told me to come and see him, I was optimistic. He saw me again coughing my head off and persuaded me to come. I went to his office to find out he specialized in asthma, weight control, and primary care. If it wasn't for him, my asthma wouldn't be under control. I told him that I wanted WLS, he discouraged me, and I started a weight loss program and I was unsuccessful. After a year, I went back to see him, he saw that I had ballooned, asked what I wanted to do, I told him WLS, and he agreed. I never expected him to be so supportive. As much as I probably get on his nerve, I see him basically every month, he was never rude or disrespectful to me.
