    Michelle May, M.D. is a recovered yo-yo dieter who helps individuals resolve mindless and emotional eating and their “eat-repent-repeat” cycle to live the vibrant life they crave. Dr. May is the award-winning author of the book series, “Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat” which teaches mindful eating for yo-yo dieting, diabetes, bariatric surgery, and binge eating. She is also the author of the Am I Hungry? Mindful Eating for Bariatric Surgery Companion Workbook and Awareness Journal. 

    She is the founder of Am I Hungry? Mindful Eating Programs and Training, which offers non-diet, weight-neutral, mindfulness-based workshops, retreats, support communities, books, and health professional training at www.AmIHungry.com. Over 700 health and wellness professionals have been trained to offer Am I Hungry? mindful eating programs in more than 35 countries.

    She is an Associate Professor at Arizona State University where she teaches Mindful Eating. She taught a masterclass on mindful eating for the Calm App and co-authored a peer-reviewed paper on weight-inclusive care. She’s a Certified Professional Speaker (CSP), has been on dozens of podcasts, and has been interviewed for CNN Health, Fitness, Glamour, Health, Parents, Prevention, Self, TIME, USA Weekend, US News & World Report, Washington Post, WebMD, WomensHealthMag, Woman’s Day, and more.
