Well I am almost 8 weeks post-op and I have lost 8.3% of my excess weight... 41 lbs WOW!  That is super cool.  I was 256 when I had my consultation, and I lost some weight right before surgery due to the liquid diet... I am shooting for 100%

I LOVE MY BAND AND WHAT IT DOES FOR ME!

Angi,
Hi there!  Using your ticker for starting weight and goal weight, the difference between these is 110 lb. you have lost 30 lbs or 27% of your EXCESS weight.  Using the 41 lbs in your reply, you have lost 37%.  Congratulations!!!

100% But I have regained a bit (see my signature) but the reasons were obvious (6 months of debauchery followed by a leak!).  Hope to be back to 100% before Xmas.

Kate

As my (and surgeons) original goal was 150, at 177 (wt. at doc last week), using highest known weight of 283......I had 133 lbs. to lose, have lost 106 (more but with a regain with pouch dilation, and unfill) so 79.6%.

If I use weight at time of surgery which was 265. 76.5%

Now at 150 my BMI will still be at overweight range....I would have to get to 127-130 for my BMI to be in normal range. I really don't believe that would be realistic for me, as I have never been below 135 in my adult life (and that for only a short period of time before geting pregnant with second daughter), and I didn't look healthy at that weight. I feel healthier at 177 than I did then....Although, it may have had something to do with my lifestyle back in the day too...!!!! LOL, just saying.

If I assume that I will reach a NORMAL (whatever the hell that is) BMI, I still have 47 lbs to go to reach that. And excess weight lost using surgery date weight would be 65%, so anyhow you slice it, greater than 60%.

10/4/07 surgery 265, 11/7/07 1st fill  252, 12/27/07 2nd fill 243, 1/16/08 234, 2/27/08 3rd fill 230, 5/18/08 209, 6/12/08 home scale 200!!!!!!!!!!! 10/22/08 1 yr......184, 11/4/08.....170, Pouch dilation in April 10, complete unfill. Starting over! 7/29/10-175

Thank you for all the responses!! Like I said, I know everyone is different...but it is nice to hear from so many people who have had such success.

I started at 230 and two weeks post op I am at 203 - Which is awesome! I'm expecting it to slow (or stop) when I start with pureed food. My goal is 150, my ideal is 140. People keep telling me that I am really going to struggle to get below 170 and that 140 will feel impossible for me. I don't need to hit 140 - I'll be thrilled if I get to 150/155.

Anyway, that is why I was wondering. Thanks again!
