Just an FYI...At Houlihan's, (they seem to be in every area around the Twin Cities), they have these "Small Plates" on their menus.  Very Cheap for such a very nice restraunt.  Haven't personally tried them yet as I'm waiting on a surgery date, but have eaten there in the past and the food was amazing!  These "small plates" seem just like the thing that would satisfy a post-op appetite, with a very wide selection of choices.  If anyone checks it out please let me know what you thought of it, I'm looking forward to taking my G/F there once we both have the surgery and can eat real food again.

"real" food is a really interesting term post-op.  I was surprised at not physically feeling hungry since surgery(14 weeks now).   Also it is amzing how your taste for certain food changes too.  Never thaught I'd prefer hamburger over steak.

Yes, it's interesting how food seems to take a back seat - at least this early on. If I had known pre-op how little I'd eat and how disinterested I'd be in food I'd have been in mourning.

Seriously! Now, food seems more like a bother. I have to remind myself to eat. Most of the time I feel like I'm force-feeding myself. I know I have to eat but I really don't want anything.

I'm less than 2 months out from my VSG and I know in time, sadly, this will change. My point, tho, is I don't miss eating. I don't mourn for my old food favorites. Not yet, anyway. But some day those Small Plates will be just the ticket. Thanks for letting us know!
