Plastics ???

Questions;
I've lost over 120 lbs.  My panni is about a hand width span from my pelvis to my belly button.

1.  My question to anyone who has had plastic surgery is, do you think I would qualify to have it be paid by OHIP?

2.  My boobs have gone from a 44DD down to a 38DD....would a breast lift or breast reduction be covered?  If so, do you lose all the feeling in them afterward?

3.  Have you ever had your pelvis done too?

I think OHIP takes it as an individual case per case basis.  Why not go for a consult, someone who works with OHIP, then you will get an honest opinion.  I've seen some pics, that I thought should have been approved, and they haven't been.. and I've seen some approved, and think 'what the heck??".. so I think it's individual.  The boobs, well I think it has to be so many cm's from collar bone to nipple, but I could be wrong.
If you don't qualify, or don't want to go through the process, you just do it.  I did.

Good luck in finding out what will be covered for you.  I am still pre-surgery for RNY and have started a surgery fund for future plastics that will not be covered by OHIP.  Since I am over 50, gravity has taken hold of so many parts :)

Good for you, best advice is to start saving now.  OHIP isn't going to cover a lot of people want fixed after wls.  I was self pay as well.

There are only 2 things that OHIP will POSSIBLY cover. Panniculectomy (removal of the apron of skin on the lower abdomen) and breast reduction. A documented history of rashes and skin problems is sometimes helpful.
You will not know what will be covered for you until you have your family physician refer you to a plastic surgeon who will work with OHIP. They will apply on your behalf.
I had a breast reduction and ended up barely a B cup because all I have left was lots of skin and not much actual breast tissue. I did not lose sensation after my reduction.
I'm not sure what you mean by having the pelvis done too. Do you mean lifting of the mons perhaps? I had a Fleur de Lis tummy tuck (self paid) and the mons area was lifted at the same time.

HI Linda,

If it is not too personal may I ask you how much it cost for your Fleur de Lis Tummy Tuck?  So I have an idea of how much I should save if not I understand I just thought it would ask.

Thanks

Each area of the body will cost anywhere from 7-9K. The price can vary from city to city and surgeon to surgeon.

I started to put some money away as soon as I had my RNY. I knew I would want/need multiple procedures done.

Thank you for replying :)

I don't know how to save anything so I don't see me being able to save for this. :(  I'll keep researching in the meantime :)

Oh about the pelvis part, I was talking about the fatty tissue part of my pelvis.  Where my pelvis bone is :/
