The chew, chew, chew plan...
VSG on 01/25/12
In our orientation package it encouraged us to choose some goals from a list they had and to focus on them in preparation for the surgery. One of the goals I chose was to practice chewing my food very well....
How do you know when you've chewed it well enough? I am pretty sure I chewed the heck out of my steak yesterday and seriously....grossest thing ever! I was also practicing putting my cutlery down in between bites and not eating and drinking at the same time.
So much to learn! Eek.

Well, when you think you have chewed it enough chew it some more and some more.

Also the amount you put on your fork will be much less so its easier to chew the food until its basically soup in your mouth. Most of the bites I take are about the size of a grape or cherry tomato. It's funny that you mention steak because that's the one food I haven't tried yet and I think I'm going to look like a cow chewing cud when I try it :) My jaws will get a good workout !
