Meeting Guelph surgeon on Dec 17!

Alright next milestone date set.   Got call from Audrey that my meeting with the surgeon is booked for Mon Dec 17 @ 1:45 pm with Dr. Jules Foute-Nelong. Told me to come prepared to buy Optifast at that time.  Given how close it is to Christmas I am making an assumption at this point that surgery won't be until 4- 6 weeks later (if current pattern follows) so not doing Optifast over Xmas.  Yeah! 

I started it two dfays before New Years last year. Good way to start the year knowing you are on your way.

WOO HOO!! He is my surgeon!  Very nice man, and cute too....hee hee (too bad I am married lol) .  He will take care of you!  He took care of me and I was not easy during surgery....a 2 - 3 hour surgery took about 5 hours for me, but he managed it! and I feel great now!  I meant him at the end of may and had my surgery on July 19th this year.  Let us know when your surgery is!  and of course how it goes!

Guelph Girl - shouldn't be long now. I see you have written Dr. Reed in your timeline so if you asked specifically for him then you could be a little longer just because you asked for a particular surgeon .     Audrey said they will get more calls from surgeons with open times soon.

Congrats. He is a great doctor.  Very kind and understanding too.

WOOHOO! so happy to read this. I have my post op class in guelph on Tuesday! Any idea how they decide how many weeks a person does optfiast? I have seen some doing a week, others two, sometimes more than two? Did they tell you how many weeks you would be on it for? thanks! Good luck, cant wait to hear how it goes and when your date is in comparison with mine!!

Jayme -- not sure how a surgeon decides how long you will be on optifast.  I won't know how long until I see the surgeon.  I have seen postings earlier by others that suggest for every 100 lbs  represents a week?  As I am almost 300, then I am guessing 3 weeks. But that's all it will be until I see the surgeon and get told by him.
