I've been on the hunt for sugar free eggnog for a few weeks now, with no luck.

My Mom came over tonight with some homemade eggnog that she made just for me!  She used this recipe:

http://www.oprah.com/food/Dr-Katzs-Better-for-You-Eggnog

She used Splenda instead of sugar, and I didn't use any whipped cream.  I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was really good!

Just thought I'd share in case anyone was looking for a healthy alternative to a favourite holiday drink!

thanks for posting that. Every year I look for no-sugar added eggnog in the stores. I think they would make a killing if they sold it!

I agree!  I found Blue Menu eggnog, which had lower fat/fewer calories, but still had tons of sugar in it.

Julia, I found a great one on the Steven and Chris tv show...I posted it a while ago somewhere but if you check their site you'll find it. Can't easily get it now because I'm doing this from my phone - left computer at home when I left for family visiting.

Anyhow, in their recipe, they cut the fat drastically but not the sugar. They sweeten with honey but I was thinking that replacing the honey with sugar-free maple syrup could work nicely.
