  • I can fit into large, medium and even some small sizes
  • I can shop with my daughter
  • I am down a shoe size and my feet are not puffy anymore
  • I have cheek bones, collar bones, hip bones, ankle bones, and knees
  • I am able to cook for my family and don't feel like I have to eat everything
  • I don't feel deprived of any food
  • I am enjoying what I eat
  • I can still eat at restaurants easily

  • Bathing is easier
  • Sex is better
  • I have a renewed desire to gig again (I'm a musician)
  • I can hold my guitar better and it's easier to play

  • I have an increased desire to take care of myself
  • I have a deep sense of joy
  • I look forward to waking up every day!

Thank you for the list. I needed the reminder of all things possible and achievable that are ahead of me.

My final two appointments are January and mid- February, then the wait for a surgery date. Sometimes it feels like it will never get happen. I can't wait to enjoy many of the same victories.

Hi Karen Kim,

I've had this list in mind for the past two weeks. I originally wrote it out only for myself, but knew that if I posted it, that it may give others waiting for surgery, hope.

Early this morning after I posted it, I went back and read my journals when I first started this process, when I was in the middle of all of my appointments, and when things seemed to be delayed for me. What a sad and frustrating time for me. I am so glad and grateful that I documented each and every feeling, episode, and situation I was in previous to surgery. Re-reading all of this put me in awe of this whole experience and how positively and how quickly things can turn around not only with the surgery itself, but also with dedication, knowledge of how to eat properly, and stamina it will take to truly embrace this life long gift.

I encourage everyone to put your feelings down so that you can re-read them after surgery. It's pretty eye opening and has left me mighty grateful.

All the best with your journey.

HI B,

Hope you enjoyed your time at the cottage. This past Sat was our XMAS party. You'll have to make it next year. I had a wonderful time. The food looked amazing ( but I'm living in the land of OPTI, so no FOOD FOR ME ). The mood was happy, upbeat and the Christmas spirit was in the air. The games were a lot of fun and secret santa was a hoot! If there is a meeting in Jan I'll see you then. Talk soon. B.

I can relate to almost every single one of those. It is so nice to feel a freedom from the entrapment of our old bodies!

Loose and not so nice looking skin is a constant reminder of my former ways - but it is worth it, because I feel so much better! I still want to lose another 47lbs...I am determined and set up to do it!

Congrats on feeling so amazing!

Hi Holly,

I still have about 65 pounds to lose (I think), but well on my way now.

"Freedom from the entrapment of our old bodies" - Someone should write a song about that!

Thanks for your awesome reply.
