Having surgery tomorrow, can I take a sudafed?

My 5 year old is sick and as hard as I have tried not to, seems I may be getting a slight cold.  I took a Claritin last night and that has helped, but I would like to take a sudafed today to "dry up" completely.  It's 6:30 and my surgeons office doesn't open for awhile, anyone see a problem with that?  It is a 12 hour extended dose, will be out of my system by surgery time.

 

I was told to stop all meds 3 days prior to surgery, but that might just be my doctor.

I'm going to wait and call.  I can still breath through my nose, so I'm not that stuffed up.  Just praying this doesn't cancel things.  Guess I should find out before I start my bowel prep, eh?

yes definitely find out before bowel prep. Remember, if for some reason this cold postpones thing, it doesn't cancel it, they'll just wait until the cold has gone

Definitely check w surgeon. My surgery nearly got delayed over some thing thee dentist gave me....however it was injected rather than swallowed so it never hit my stomach
