Need ideas for dense protein foods

I feel like I'm not "getting" this.  I'm trying to eat proteins first but I'm not sure that the foods that I'm eating are giving me the most bang for my buck.  I'm a revision from lap band to gastric and know that my weight loss is probably going to be slower than others, but I'm getting a bit discouraged.  My doctor would prefer I eat my proteins rather than get then from a protein shake.  I'd love to hear what are you go-to foods for lots of protein but not too many calories.

When I want dense and low cal I go with chicken.  I don't eat anything that comes from the water, but fish would also be a good choice.  At this point though, you don't need to be too concerned with calories because you won't be able to eat enough of dense protein to impact your weight loss, so figure out what fills you up the best and try to minimize sliders like cottage cheese.  :D

Therein lies another one of my problems.  I am not feeling full and satisfied from my meals.

In my early months I ate a lot of:

Tuna, chicken, steak, fish, jerky, turkey pepperoni & sonoma jacks cheese spreads, 1/2 quest bar, cheese sticks, PB2 & dannon lite & fit yogurts.

I am very interested making my own jerky. When was it ok for you to incorporate the jerky?  Also, I see some folks eat pork rinds, any trouble with dumping due to fat content?  

For protein, I am sticking with chicken and fish primarily. Mostly getting just protein. Not a lot of room for other foods once protein is down. 

Regarding hunger, I feel full easily, but hungry within about 11/2 hours. Manageable, but surprising. I was looking forward to having to remember to eat and not having hunger. Is this likely head hunger? Surgery was  7/31.

I started eating jerky at around 4 months out. That's early for some and not for others. You just have to chew it well and make sure you are getting you liquids in to counter all the sodium.

Pork rinds. If you are looking at them as a protein source don't. It's skin and therefore collagen. We don't absorb that very well. Actually no one does which is why bags of pork rinds have that notice on the bag, "Not a significant source of protein."

If you just want a pork rind then go ahead. I wouldn't because of the fat but that's me.

Greek yogurt, chicken, and part skim mozzerella, but yogurt and cheese can be slider foods. I try to pair cheese with nuts or an egg to keep me full longer. And I like to add hemp seed, slivered almonds, or unsweetened coconut to my greek yogurt to give it more substance.

I agree about cheese-- I always have to pair it with something-- usually cashews or grapes!

Prior to surgery I added chia seeds to yogurt and let it sit for some hours in frig.  Much thicker, interesting (to me anyway) consistency. I am still on purée, so no chia right now.

I agree...absolutely EGGS. I'm only 7 weeks out but when I have an egg....I am not hungry until next meal. And topping your Greek yogurt. Great thanks
