the past two months I eat and it goes straight through me. Doesn't matter what I eat. I'm constantly going to the bathroom and passing gas. It's embarrassing. The gas just comes out too. I literally go 15 times to the bathroom a day. What should I do? I want this to stop its so embarrassing!!!

That sounds like something is up with what you are eating.  That is not a typical outcome from RNY. Have you contacted your surgeon to ask about this issue? Are you following you plan or have you started to stray into things that aren't recommended for RNY folks?

For me the only time I have gas is when I eat anything with sugar alcohol in it. A chemist buddy of mine was explaining that the molecular structure of that stuff is kinda wacky in your body and breaks up into gas and actual sugar in your digestive system. I avoid it as much as possible.

Hope that helps,

~Elizabeth

As Elizabeth said, it depends on what you are eating. Anything with sugar alcohols, I might as well spend the day on the toilet.

Any simple carbs or starches will give you bad gas or diarrhea too.

Let us know what you are eating, exactly, and maybe we can help more.

Lactose intolerance can have that effect too. If you weren't lactose intolerant before the surgery, you might be now.

Give us a sample daily menu.  Could be sugar alcohols, carbs, lactose intolerance, gall bladder.... the lists goes on and on :)

Have you been on antibiotics?  Have you changed medicines/supplements/diet?  Are you a frequent yogurt-eater or take probiotics?  Fifteen times a day sounds like a doctor visit for help is worth your time.
