Icing post-op incisions?

I'm 5 days post op, and taking the occasional Tylenol for discomfort.

A couple of my insicions are are quite sore - is gentle icing a good idea, or a no-no? No one mentioned anything at the hospital.

Thanks!

My husband was encouraged to ice his if they felt tender. I don't see what it could hurt?

I have used ice packs and heating pad. I am almost 3 weeks post-op. My largest incision is still painful.

As long as you keep them dry, I don't see why it would be a problem.
