Good morning menu peeps and Happy Friday! Open topic for photos today and mine is a collage I made to post on Facebook for Owen's 13th Birthday. So hard to believe he's 13! Let the birthday celebrations begin.

QOTD: Do you remember when you were 13? What was the highlight of becoming a teenager? I remember vaguely- we had a birthday party and went out for dinner with some of my friends. I'm still friends with one of the girls - we went to school together from grade 4-9 and stayed friends. Drifted apart after we got married but got back in touch through Facebook. That year our school also did a grade 8 trip to Washington D.C. and we did a 1 week exchange to Quebec City. We stayed with a student for a week and did a bunch of sight seeing and a couple of months later they came and stayed with us.

Accountability: it was great yesterday. Stuck to plan. No exercise I really have to get my head in the game on exercise

Menu: I'm working from home today so I don't quite have it all planned out but here's how I think it will go:

B: Greek yogurt with vanilla syrup

L: I may have an egg or some other leftovers- will be Protein first of course .

D: it's pizza night for the birthday boy so I will order chicken with marinara sauce and cheese

S: Not sure yet.

Weight was down to 170.4 today.

Vitamin patches and oral vitamins will be on.

Have a great day and an awesome weekend everyone!

Teena, great pictures! Thanks for sharing.

I was really active yesterday -- short walk, long walk, some swimming plus deep water aerobics -- and the scale is up a bit this morning. It is always frustrating when I've expended lots of calories to have the scale up but it seems to happen sometimes. I've heard that it can be the body holding onto water to recover, so I'll just go with it. Anyone know?

QOTD: I can't remember 13 specifically, but I know that my teen years were hard ones. I am so glad that they are over and that I don't have to relive them. Teena (& pammieann), I applaud you for having multiple teens.

Menu:

Breakfast: hard boiled egg, 2 oz ham

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake

Lunch: Turkey breast, baby carrots

Snack: 2 oz turkey breast

Dinner: ?

Exercise: 60 minutes on the treadmill

This happened to me last month. After a bout of extreme physical activity, I gained 2.2 pounds. This had nothing to do with food intake and everything to do with insane exercise. Apparently this is a common experience. After a few days, my weight dropped, but that experience was the beginning of a month of quite minor loss as opposed to the large losses I had had beforehand. You are segueing into maintenance, so that will not be an issue for you, but with 140 pounds yet to go, I found it quite frustrating. Luckily I seem to have broken the trend and am down 6 pounds this week!

so glad it's Friday! I did OK yesterday - but once again, I got home and ate pumpkin yogurt with bran cereal and not the salad I'd planned on. I hate to see that chicken - I may have to dump it tonight after this many days... Overall calories were a little higher than I'd like (too much celery with peanut butter as a snack), but not bad. Weight is up a bit this morning, though - not sure why unless it's sodium.

QOTD: I don't remember my 13th birthday at all, other than I remember being happy that I was a teenager (not necessary on my birthday in particular, though). We never really did that much on birthdays, though, so there wouldn't necessarily be much to remember...

2 years 4 months out

B: homemade Greek yogurt with mango and raspberries

S: coffee with half & half, SF pumpkin vanilla protein/Miralax latte shake

L: 1 C chili with 2 T shredded cheddar cheese

D: if the chicken is still alive, then chicken/apple/pecan salad. If not, maybe gumbo or turkey meatballs with some kind of vegetable

ex: either yoga or the gym - or both!

Great pictures, Teena! What a cute son!

Good Morning everyone!

QOTD: I don't specifically remember 13, but age 12 was a very eventful year for me. My beloved dog died and my grandfather died. My baby brother was born. Then on Christmas day my aunt & uncle were killed in a car accident that left my 14 year old cousin orphaned so he came to live with us. So I gained an older "brother" and a baby brother in the same year. We also moved to a new house that year.

Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 80, Calories 1,125, Carbs - 94.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt

L: hamburger patty with melted cheese, light & fit Greek yogurt

D: chicken stir fry, light & fit Greek yogurt

S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, banana, Atkin's peanut butter cups

E: Walking Blossom around the subdivision - Brrr!

Photo: You've seen this one before, but I don't have any new photos. This is me walking Tippy (chihuahua) and Blossom (mixed breed).

Have a WONDERFUL day everyone and a SUPER weekend!

You did have a ton go on in one year, especially for a 12 year old that's a lot to process.
