I hadn't thought about this very much (i don't know why) but I know that my insurance covers 90% of the surgery. So do they just bill you for the other 10% of the surgery? How much did you all end up paying if you had a similar situation? Thank you!

My insurance covers 80% I had to pay $672.00 up front to have my surgery to the doctor and Since I work for the hospital I am staying at they are taking my twenty percent out of my check for the hospital bill. The doctor will tell you on your first visit how much your part will be.

My insurance covered 80% but since this was a new Ins. company I had not met my deductible yet, so I paid $4300.00.. I paid that the week before my surgery whenI saw my doctor and nutritionsist on my last pre op appt.

Haven't had to pay yet but saw my surgeon bill for $375 and hospital bill for 47K. All are reinsurance. I believe my is 90% with a catastrophic cap of $3 k.

My insurance covered everything except the nutritionist and psych. My doc's office also required that we eat food items from their "store" which was an additional cost. In all I had to pay about 1200.00.

For the actual surgery, I paid $0. My only costs were the initial NUT consult ($100), psych consult ($250), and surgeon co-pay ($10). I realize this is a HUGE rarity, so I am quite thankful for my amazing insurance.

my insurance pays 80% I was told my total is going to come out to be 3375. I will also have to stay in a hotel there for a few days since I live over an hour away. So, I am assuming about 4000 total.

I have Kaiser and they pay 100% of the surgery but I have a $500.00 deductible.  I also have AFLAC and they will reimbursement the $500.00 so my total cost will be $0 and I'm grateful
